CALENDAR/SCHEDULE
Southern California Road Series 2003
Last season's Road Series was hurting for participants and we
are
looking this year to make the series a lot more user friendly.
Our plan is
support our local fleets efforts rather than having events at venues
where
there is not a strong local fleet and perhaps detracting from the
local
fleets events. The series this year will consist of four events
with one
throw out event. On tap for the series so far are:
 |
Cinco de Mayo Regatta
Santa Barbara Sailing Club, Santa
Barbara
May 3rd and 4th
- Traditionally a great turnout with the
big local fleet in Santa Barbara

|
 |
Dana Point
Dana Point Yacht Club, Dana Point
August 16th and 17th
- The Dana Point fleet is going strong and getting good turnouts for all
their local events. August generally provides decent winds and the hospitality
at DPYC can't be beat.

 |
Harris Series
California Yacht Club, Marina Del Rey
September 6-7
- Santa Monica Bay is the venue for this event and Cal Y.C. is a great
host. This area generally gets a nice sea breeze this time of year and
the shallow water of the bay can produce some nice waves for good rides
downwind.

 |
J/Fest Southern California
San Diego Yacht Club, San Diego
October 11-12
-
This regatta traditionally gets a great turnout
for us. SDYC and Sail
California will be pulling out all the stops to make this event one to
remember. Road series overall trophies will be awarded at the completion of
this event.

2003 Western Regionals
St. Francis Y.C., San Francisco
May 31st and June 1st
- This is the West Coast J/24 Championship and this year will be held at
St. Francis Y.C. in San Francisco. This event is also a qualifier for the
2004 Worlds and should a great turnout from Bay area boats as well as a
good
contingent fom Seattle. Once you have mastered sailing on San Francisco
Bay there is nothing that can stop you! Lots of stuff to do both on and
off the water. The RC work at St. Francis is top notch.
