Members of Team BLUE will strive for greatness in all aspects of sailing including tactics, tuning, sail design and sportsmanship.

A team formed and sponsored by North Sails to raise the level of North American Optimist sailors. Through clinics, regatta coaching, and sail testing in addition to current team training regimens, expectations are high for the improvement of our young sailors all over the country.

If you own a North Optimist sail, you are automatically eligible for Team BLUE membership. All you need to do is fill out the registration form. There is no entry fee. A FREE Team BLUE hat will be mailed to the address provided. Colored stars to be sewn onto the hat will be awarded to members for various accomplishments. Once a member has earned 5 stars, he will become a 5-star member.

Throughout the duration of your optimist sailing days, you will try to earn stars to put on your Team BLUE hat. Once you earn your 5th star, simply sew it on and send it to the team leader, Brian Bissell. You will get it autographed by all the sailing superstars at North Sails One Design. You may also send in your used North Sail for a brand new one. You can periodically check in on your star status on the Team BLUE website at www.onedesign.com/teamblue.

	The “Gold Star” is for winning a major championship with a North Sail (Orange Bowl, Midwinters, Valentines Day, Team Trials, Nationals, North Americans)
	Taking part in a Team BLUE new sail design test.
	Qualifying for an international team
	An act of sportsmanship either witnessed by team leader or witnessed by someone who writes in to North explaining the act of sportsmanship.
	First Girl at a major championship regatta.
	Improve 15 places from one major regatta to the next one.
	Top Gun at US National Team Practice.
