	LIGHTNING UPDATE CELEBRATE AND GET A CHANCE TO WIN BRAND NEW SET OF NORTH SAILS!   The Lightning Class is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a great event hosted by Skaneateles Country Club, NY on July 4-6 and we want you to be there with us to celebrate! The event will include racing, Lightning Labs, dinners, fun and frivolity. If these are not enough reasons you should be there here is another!! North Sails One Design, in their role as a contributing sponsor of the 70th Regatta, will donate a brand new North Sails main and jib to be raffled at the event! All participants, who are active, associate or crew members of the ILCA, will have their name entered in a drawing, to be held on Saturday night (July 5th). Q&A: Who can win? Any ILCA member is eligible as long as they attend the event. Active, Associate, Life and crew will all be entered to win. How do I win? Active members will have their name submitted 4 times. Associate, Life and crew will have their names submitted once. What’s it going to cost me? Nothing. Well that’s not exactly true. If you are an ILCA member (Active, Associate, Crew or Life) you are automatically entered when you check in at the ILCA desk at the regatta. Active members will have their name submitted 4 times. Associate, Life and crew members will have their names submitted once. So if you aren’t an ILCA member you will have to join the ILCA (but why wouldn’t you anyway??). What if I want to increase my odds of winning? Extra "chances" may be purchased at registration at the ILCA desk for $10 each. Only ILCA members can buy extra chances. What’s the “catch”? Well you have to go to the 70th to have a chance of winning. Only people who register for the event and are onsite by Saturday at 10am will be eligible. You don’t have to be racing. You just have to be there participating. You will have to check in at the ILCA desk to fill out your tickets. When do I get my new sails? Sails will be sent shortly after the event. We will need you to supply a sail number then they will be on their way to you. Do I get to choose the designs/models? Yes. You choose. M5 or MF2 main. 5A+ or JF2 jib. Or a set of our new “classic” designs for traditional Lightnings. Will other items be raffled that night? Perhaps. There could be many surprises in store for you and your group.
