North 's Mobjack sails are quite different that what is common in the Class at this point, but our experience in other one design classes and the time we spent in the Mobjack will show that our latest designs will help to make the boat easier to steer and easier to accelerate in light and shifty or choppy conditions. Special consideration to the main panel layout and cloth selection help the sail to power nicely in a breeze.
NORTH
MOBJACK MAIN
#1 2010 Nationals!
 The North Mobjack Main is built out of North's exclusive
4.7 Nordac fabric. This softer finish fabric combined with
our fanned panel layout makes for a relatively easy sail to
trim. The cloth has been considered almost "self adjusting".
While the Mobjack needs power for light to medium winds in
"critical" conditions, it still needs to be able
to depower in a breeze. With moderate boom vang tension and
cunningham, the draft maintains its 50% position and the upper
leech opens up nicely.

 NORTH MOBJACK JIB
#1 2010 Nationals!
The North Mobjack Jib is built out of 180 HTP sq. Dimension
Polyant fabric. It is quite a bit fuller than most other Mobjack jibs, especially
in the entry. In addition to helping increase the boat's power, it also
makes the boat much more forgiving to steer without compromising
pointing ability.

NORTH CROSSCUT SPINNAKER
 #1 2010 Nationals!
The North Mobjack Spinnaker is built out of AirX 600 fabric
and is a crosscut design.
It maintains a relatively flat shape off the mast in the
head area which helps to open up the upper leeches and provide
more projected area. The more open leeches also help to maintain an open slot
between the spinnaker and main on a tight reach.
This spinnaker, is the a new standard
in the Class! A true all around performer. |
