Congratulations to Chris Winnard and crew Derek Hardy and Bill Ramacciotti for winning the 2006 Holder
Nationals held in San Diego. Racing was held on the ocean course all
three days. Winds varied from Friday’s races with less than 10 kts to
Saturday and Sunday’s races in the 12-20 kt range. Aside from the hour and a half tow to the start, the kelp, and hour and a half sail back to
the dock, the racing portion was excellent. The race committee did a
great job of setting the marks and getting the classes started
considering the conditions. The award for best crewmember should
probably go to 'your kelp stick', as it was use very often. Chris won in
impressive fashion by winning all 7 races by a considerable margin,
leaving the rest of us fighting it out for the 1st losers position
which went to Frank Keesling from Colorado. Results can be found at
